PEC Awarded Acquisition Support Contract from Joint Chiefs of Staff

Fairfax, VA. (September 29, 1999) - Performance Engineering Corporation (PEC) (Nasdaq: PECS) has been awarded a $327,000 contract to assist the Office of the Joint Chiefs of Staff with the outsourcing of its desktop and LAN support services.

PEC will conduct a performance level assessment of the Joint Chiefs' classified and unclassified information systems, gather data, and perform an analysis of future Joint Chiefs functional needs with a focus on office automation. The company will also suggest hardware and software acquisition options for future support of the Joint Chiefs' information technology infrastructure.
